Having the unique distinction and honor of being the first and only Main Street Program
in the nation operating in dual states, Main Street Texarkana experiences both the
unique challenges and opportunities that only Texarkana can present.  Through a joint
effort of the Arkansas and Texas State Main Street programs Main Street Texarkana
is forging ahead to address operations and opportunities for which there has been no
previous precedence.

At the community level, Main Street Texarkana is comprised of a Board of Directors that
are chosen for their commitment and interests in both the Downtown District as well as
the greater Texarkana area.  Although viewing downtown as the heart of the city, Main
Street Texarkana understands that each distinct area and community are just as vital
to the overall success and growth of the Texarkana area. 

In addition to the Board of Directors, Main Street Texarkana utilizes the efforts of
volunteers.  Volunteers participate independently at various events and activities
while we also maintain a viable body of volunteers working with our Design, Economic
Restructuring, Promotions, and Organization Committees. 

Daily operations are overseen by our Executive Director, who also works collaboratively
with both our Board and Committee structures. 

If you have an interest in our Downtown District and would like to get involved, we have
numerous opportunities and activities to complement your unique skills or interests.
