Mission Statement

• To be the leading resource for revitalization of Historic Downtown Texarkana.
• To be a preservation-based economic development/re-development entity.
• To provide technical assistance & expertise through implementation of the National Trust's Main Street Center's comprehensive

Main Street Texarkana operates under the Four-Point Approach:

1. Design: defining downtown's physical appearance; landscapes, sidewalks, streets, building facades, signs and window displays.
   

2. Organization: building consensus & cooperation among many groups & individuals, who have a stake in downtown, for broad-based support with continuous monitoring & evaluation.

3. Promotion: enhancing the image as an exciting center of the community, filled with thriving stores, successful businesses, quality services & multiple social activities.

4. Economic Restructuring: focusing on retaining existing businesses, finding new uses for vacant spaces & attracting new retail & non-retail functions to strengthen & diversify downtown's economic base
